The main objective here is to have fun and celebrate the man and the game, but every tournament needs rules.

 

Before you arrive:

 

Teams- Must be registered and  paid in full

 

Individuals must be assigned to a team.

 

Day of the tournament:

You must sign a waiver

 

-Have your assigned team colours

 

ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR SHINGUARDS FOR THEIR OWN PROTECTION.

 

Tournament structure.

 

1. Saturday’s group games will be 20 minute matches, no half time.

2. Co-Ed is OK. Over 18’s of either sex only though please.

3. A win will be worth 3 points a tie will be worth 1 point.

4. At the end of the group stages and after scores have been tabulated, The top two from each group will advance.

5. In the event of a tie on points, Goal difference is the tie breaker.

6. In the event that that is also even, Goals scored will be the second tie breaker

7. If that is still even we look at head to head

8. Still can’t break the tie…? then it’s a penalty shoot out

9. Quarter final, Semi final and Final game will be 30 minutes in length, ( 2x15mins)

10. If these games end in a tie it is straight to a best of five penalty shoot out to determine winner.

 

During the games:

1. The referees word is final

2. No slide tackles

3. No playing the ball while on the ground

4. Play resumes from the goalkeeper after a goal is scored

5. Field Marshals will record scores

6. There are NO offsides

7. Throw ins when ball is out of play.

8. Yellow cards for time wasting

9. Captains only may question referees and expect an answer.

10.  Refs will employ yellow and red card system.  Basically ANY cards are frowned upon, and are totally unnecessary,  BUT

- 2 yellows = a red, and that means a  2 game suspension 

-Straight red = ejection from tournament.      

- Yellows in three consecutive games = 1 match suspension

 

After the match

 

1. All teams are expected to respectfully shake hands with opponents and officials.

2. Team organizer is responsible for reporting goal scorers to Field Marshal

3. Berating of officials will not be tolerated, cards can and will be issued outside of the game as well.

 

General Code of Conduct

 

1. Remember this is a memorial tournament and that it is not the World Cup

2. Have fun, and enjoy this amazing event.

3. Competitive, but friendly is the order of the day.

4. Moderate language around families
